Abstract: | Exploration Licence 813 was held by Peko Mines NL and covered an area of 163 km2 being located 94 km S.W. of the Tennant Creek township. Access to the EL is by a track leading west from the Kelly bore turnoff, via Kelly west trig and passing through EL 228 to Point Wakefield. The first aerial magnetic survey to cover the area was made by the B.M.R.; refer B.M.R. plan Green Swamp SE, E53/Bl-3. During the tenure of the Exploration Licence, the area was flown for low level aeromagnetics. From this survey the only anomaly showing Tennant Creek type characteristics was chosen for further work and named Explorer 111. Reconnaissance ground (total and vertical force) geomagnetics were done and analysis of the results indicated that the causative body was very deep seated. |
