Title: Final report, Mineral Lease S 147, Molyhil Mine, NT. 14 November 1973 to 31 December 1993.
Title Holder / Company: Aztec Mining Company
Report id: CR1994-0165
Tenure: MLS147
Year: 1994
Author: Butler, IK
Abstract: MLS 147, covering 9 hectares, is part of a contiguous block of tenure covering the Molyhil molybdenum-tungsten mine. Mineralisation occurs in two deposits (Yacht Club and Southern) in calcareous sediments that have been altered to a skarn within a roof pendant of the Jinka Granite. The Johannsen family mined at Molyhil from 1974 to 1978 when Petrocarb Exploration purchased the leases. They mined until 1982. Petrocarb became Nicron Resources Ltd which in turn became a wholly owned subsidiary of Aztec Mining Company Ltd. In this report, Aztec concluded that low commodity prices prevent mining at present.
