Abstract: | The initial stream sediment sampling programme returned two anomalous gold values (2.29 and 1.29ppb Au) from the same northerly flowing tributary of the Fergusson River. Follow up of these stream sediment anomalies consisted of 10 infill bulk stream sediment samples and 21 rock chip samples. As the area containing the anomalies is generally devoid of outcrop rock chip samples were collected from a nearby quartz ridge. Gold values were uniformly low. 10 bulk stream sediment samples were collected as well, of these only one had any significant gold (2.81ppb Au). Soil and additional rock chip sampling returned disappointing results. Due to disappointing results the area was relinquished. |
