Combined partial surrender mineral exploration report parts of exploration licences 8118, 8119 and 8166 for the period 12 May 1996 to 11 May 1997

Abstract

The relinquished portions of the tenements were evaluated for diamonds in an offshore palaeo environment. High resolution geophysical surveys were undertaken and include bathymetric, seismic and sidescan sonar acquisition. Two targets identified and evaluated by 3 drill holes to a maximum depth of 11m. No target gravels intersected. A sample from each site was analysed for 72 elements, particle size analysis, biological analysis, diamond analysis and micropalaeontological analysis.
