Abstract: | A programme of reconnaissance stream sediment sampling, close interval follow-up work and magnetic anomaly follow-up was carried out over EL 5361 and 5806. A total of 152 stream sediment samples and 8 soil samples were collected over the rwo exploration licences, yielding a number of possibly kimberlitic chromites. These chromites have been found to have originated from the Cretaceous cover in the region. Investigation of 4 magnetic anomalies from a geophysical survey showed them to be of low interest. It was therefore concluded that the licences have little potential to host a diamondiferous intrusion of economic size. |
