Abstract: Exploration Licence No. 5762 was granted to Morestoe fly Ltd on 15th March 1988 for the period of two years. Carpentaria Gold fly
Ltd purchased the Mining Tenement from Morestoe on 1st July 1988. The EL is located 6km SW of the Tom's Gully mine, NT. The Licence area was stream sediment sampled. Gold anomalies were delineated in the northwestern to central portion of the block, in the northeast corner and on the eastern boundary. Anomalous values are those over I ppb. Two of these areas were followed up by rock chip sampling. This located several quartz lenses orientated sub-parallel to bedding in the northwestern corner of the EL, A peak rock sample gold value of 0. 64 g/t was attained. Additional stream sediment sampling confirmed this corner to have anomalous levels of gold. Future work will concentrate on the northwest corner of the EL. Additional work will also be done on the stream anomalies located in the northeast corner and on the eastern boundary. The licence area was covered by a stream sediment survey. The samples were analysed for gold by the bulk cyanide leach method. A subsample was taken4 sieved to -80 mesh and analysed for Cu, Pb, Zn, Ag, As, Fe, Mn, Mo, Cr, BI, Cd, Sb, U and Sn.
Values over I ppb Au have been taken to be anomalous. Background is about 0. 15 ppb Au. Eight values from 18 samples gave anomalous gold values. The anomalies lie on the northwest corner to central area and in the northeast corner. An additional gold anomaly was located by stream sediment sampling the then adjacent EL4927. This lies on the eastern boundary. The locations of these samples are shown on the two plans accompanying this report.
