Abstract: | In September 1988, Carpentaria Gold fly Ltd signed an agreement with Woodleigh Nominees fly Ltd, title holders of EL 5346, whereby Carpentaria has sole rights to explore & peg mining tenements and carry out mining activities in that part of EL 5346 lying north of latitude 13 degrees for a period of two years. In return; Carpentaria transferred to Woodleigh the titles for EL 4956 and MCN's 1645 and 1646 in the Maude Creek area, N7. As a first step in exploring EL 5346 north of latitude 13 degrees, Carpentarla carried out a stream sediment survey of that area by helicopter, several gold anomalies were found, but the stronger anomalies all appear to have their sources in the various blocks of claims belonging to other parties and which pre-date Woodleigh's EL 5346. Some uranium anomalies in the stream sample results were also found, but at this stage have not been followed up. This report is written to inform Woodleigh Nominees Pty Ltd of Carpentaria's work on EL 5346 for Woodleigh's annual report to the NTDME on the Licence, as well as providing a record for Carpentaria. Although the stream sediment sampling has not revealed any strong gold anomalies from areas not already under other companies' claims, the possibility remains that gold mineralization could be found in areas bordering the claims. All low order gold anomalies from areas away from the claims blocks will be followed up, as well as the base metals, arsenic and uranium anomalies. At the time of writing this report, ground follow-up of these anomalies is being undertaken. |
