Abstract: | During 1987, Year 5 of Tenure for EL 4177 ended with a reduction from 4 blocks to 2 blocks and pegging with Mineral Claims portions of the relinquished blocks 22 March 1988. An evaluation and compilation of 1986 results by CSR Minerals concluded there was no significant Au mineralisation associated with the Zamu Dolerite. CSR Ltd announced withdrawl from the Joint Venture agreement with Dominion and Peko Wallsend in EL 4177, effective 01 September 1987. As a result of the timing thereof, no further exploration was conducted in the remainder of Year 5. Management of exploration reverted to Dominion. Dominion regarded EL 4177 inadequately explored for vein stockwork gold mineralisation, as has been delineated at Woolwonga 5 kilometres to the southeast. Mineral Claims were consequently pegged over portions of the relinquished EL blocks. Detailed mapping and sampling is required of retained areas to locate any possible repeats of Woolwonga-style mineralisation. |
