Abstract: The aim of the 1986 Exploration Programme was to study various targets defined by the earlier programmes and representing various stages of maturity.nThese are as follows; 1. At the Twin and Dam Prospects - Here detailed geological and geophysical surveys have defined a potential mineralized body related to a specific lithologic setting and structural pattern. Geophysical surveys over the area have included resistivity, magnetic, surface and down hole radiometry and Alphacard. For these projects the following three stage programme was proposed: (a) Trenching at specific locations to more accurately define the geology, structure and nature of an anomaly. (b) Profiles of shallow, 40-60 m, percussion holes, which would provide geological and radiometric information from below the surface effects (such as the water table). (c) Diamond and percussion drilling in selected places defined by the first drilling phase. All holes are logged for gamma ray activity using both scintillometric and Geiger Muller probes. Where possible sensitivity-SP logging would also take place.
