Title: Final Report on the 1976 Dry Season Exploration Programme on EL 13
Title Holder / Company: Pancontinental Mining

Report id: CR1977-0052
Tenure: EL13
Year: 1977
Abstract: The three renewed areas of EL 13 underwent varying amounts of exploration during the 1976 dry season. Area B was drilled by percussion methods to test radon cup anomalies, in some cases coincident with radiometric anomalies. Eight holes totalling 822 metres were drilled but did not locate radioactivity of economic significance. Favourable Cahill Formation lithologies are limited at depth by an extensive sill of Oenpelli Dolerite. Geological and ground radiometric surveys were conducted on Area A. Low order anomalies were located and investigated. No radioactivity of economic significance, however, was found and the potential of the area is low. Area C, which exhibits a large east-west fault structure, was explored by ground radiometric surveys and geochemical soil sampling. Work was centered around sites of previous radon cup anomalies. No radiometric or uranium-in-soil anomalies were found and little potential is held for the area. A limited amount of reconnaissance work was conducted in previously relinquished areas immediately surrounding Areas A, B, and C. Results do not warrant follow-up surveys.
