Title: Final report on prospecting AP 2191 Tobermorey
Title Holder / Company: Vam
Report id: CR1971-0069
Tenure: AP2191
Year: 1971
Abstract: Work on AP 2191 was in conjunction with APs 2000, 2018, 2190, 2192 and 2261. Literature survey revealed little previous work. A base map was compiled using Government serial air photos. Seigal and Associates made a study of existing aeromagnetic data along with gravity and geological maps. It was acknowledged that the target lead-zinc-pyrite-marcasite mineralisation may not have any geophysical signature. In January 1970, a helicopter reconnaissance was conducted. No Devonian sediments were identified within AP 2191. No major geological structures were identified in the geophysical interpretation or in the helicopter reconnaissance. No mineralisation was found. Grids were established in preparation for future on ground surveys but were abandoned when it was determined that AP 2192 was the least promising of the tenement package. It was recommended that AP 2191 be relinquished in full.
