Title: Final Report on AP 2190 Huckitta
Title Holder / Company: Vam
Report id: CR1971-0068
Tenure: AP2190
Year: 1971
Abstract: Work on AP 2191 was in conjunction with APs 2000, 2018, 2190, 2192 and 2261. The target was base metal mineralisation similar to Box Hole Bore. Literature survey revealed little previous work. A base map was compiled using Government serial air photos. Seigal and Associates made a study of existing aeromagnetic data along with gravity and geological maps. It was acknowledged that the target lead-zinc-pyrite-marcasite mineralisation may not have any geophysical signature. Reconnaissance IP was considered the best exploration technique. Four lines were recorded near Box Hole Bore. These lines were each about three miles long and separated by two miles. Three lines were recorded in the southern potion of AP 2190 over Arrinthrunga dolomite which is believed to overlie Jinka Granite. Lines were three miles long and separated by two miles. In both cases, the IP was interpreted to have limited contrast. No additional mineralisation was found during a brief surface reconnaissance and the title was recommended for surrender.
