Title: Final Report AP 2277, Mount Eaglebeak, Harts Range.
Title Holder / Company: Australus Mining
Report id: CR1970-0008
Tenure: AP2277
Year: 1970
Abstract: AP 2277 was taken out to explore for tantalite and rare earth elements. Exploration extended to other metals and uranium. Radiometric surveys, rock chip sampling, stream sediment sampling, ultra-violet light prospecting were all carried out. Small patches of scheelite were found and rock chipped, with only trace mineralisation being detectable. Pegmatites throughout the title were systematically examined and Entire Creek was stream sediment sampled. Heavy mineral separation was used and the samples examined microscopically. An ironstone at Mount Mary Bore West, Atrichs Mica Mine and the Walter Smith radioactive show in Entia Gneiss were examined in detail. No significant mineralisation was found and the AP was surrendered.
