Abstract: As a part of exploration of AP 2222 & 2223 in the Katherine area, Northern Territory a DC3 survey contracted to Hunting Geology and Geophysics and an in-house helicopter survey by Queensland Mines were conducted. The contracted survey used a 4 channel differential spectrometer and a magnetometer to record radioactivity and magnetics respectively. The results of the radiometric survey were presented progressively throughout the survey for immediate follow-up in the field. Final radiometric records were recorded and plotted by Hunting into mosaics and overlays. The magnetic records were not processed because of discouraging results in a geologically similar area which was surveyed at the same time as the subject APs. The helicopter follow-up used a four channel integral spectrometer for relocating the radioactive anomalies particularly those of difficult ground access. The helicopter survey allowed a quick and accurate assessment of the lateral extent and mineral potential of these anomalies.
