| Abstract: | These APs were explored for bauxite that was believed to have developed on lateritised lower Cretaceous rocks. Laterite was found to be 20-30 feet thick. Reconnaissance grab sampling and hand augering were undertaken; 21 samples were taken from Mount Pearce and 22 from the Dinnabung Creek area. Total available alumina was less than 2.5%, confirming visual assessment that the rocks were too siliceous and ferruginous to reflect potential bauxite. |
