Title Holder / Company: | Australian Geophysical |
Report id: | CR1967-0008 |
Tenure: | AP1260; AP1272; AP1447 |
Year: | 1967 |
Abstract: | Operations in the reporting period consisted of costeaning to test IP anomalies, stream sediment sampling and drilling. Four drillholes totalling 2364.25 feet were drilled. Drillholes EL 1, 2 and 4 intersected pyritic lodes with traces of base metal sulphides. However assays were so low that other holes of similar grade visually were not assayed. Hole 3 intersected weakly pyritic carbonaceous shale with up to 720 ppm Zn and 456 ppm Pb. The drilling has shown the IP anomalies were due to pyritic bodies that have little economic significance and the option held over APs 1260 has been dropped and AP 1272 held only until 8 January 1968. |
