Title: | 1966 Final Report for AP 1281 Mount Fitch Prospect. |
Title Holder / Company: | Australian Mining and Smelting |
Report id: | CR1966-0007 |
Tenure: | AP1281 |
Year: | 1965 |
Author: | Berkman, DA |
Abstract: | AP 1281 was granted in 1965 and surrendered in 1966. Work conducted during the period of tenure included an extensive literature review of previous work going back to 1913 which includes uranium and gold exploration as well as the known base metal anomalism. Two diamond drillholes, 65.F.1 (250 feet) and 65.F.2 (175 feet) were drilled to test for base metal mineralisation beneath lead and copper anomalies respectively. Best assay in 65.F.1 was 1.0% Pb from 130 to 133 feet, and in 65.F.2 0.73% Cu from 107 to 110 feet. This did not encourage further work by Australian Mining and Smelting. |
