Abstract: | The Forkyard Project (EL 8816) is located on Kurundi and Espenarra Pastoral leases, some 120 km SE of Tennant Creek. Exploration over the licence has been oriented at defining Tennant Creek polymetallic mineralisation (Au-Cu-Bi) associated with ironstone bodies with a high magnetite content occuring in early Proterozoic turbiditic sediments of the Warramunga Formation. A low level aeromagnetic survey over the area revealed one target (FT3), which was selected for follow-up. Three traverses of soil sampling were carrried out over the target area. Fifty samples were sent for Bleg analysis, and revealed negative results. The exploration potential of the area for magnetically associated gold mineralisation is considered limited. |
