Annual report on EL 7190 (Hodgson Downs), 13-02-1994 to 12-02-1995

Abstract

This report detaild activities for the period ending 12-02-1995, for EL 7190, which forms the Hodgson Downs Joint venture between Stockdale and Normandy. The licence is considered prospective for shale hosted Pb-Zn-Ag deposits. Base metal exploration has included stream sediment, soil and rock chip sampling to confirm elevated base metal results in sampling from 1991. Results verified the base metal anomalism outlined by Stockdale. In addition, percussion drilling was completed to obtain an overview of the original stratigraphy, and test the Velkerri Formation, a shale-siltstone unit. The drilling highlighted broad zones of moderate anomalism (max. 420ppm Cu, 115ppm Pb and 1450ppm Zn) in separate samples which require further exploration. The elevated base metal values are associated with the Velkerri Formation, and generally occur in carbonaceous shale/siltstone units associated with fine grained disseminated pyrite.
