Abstract: | Exploration Licence No 5293 is located 90km/s ESE from Darwin, in the Northern Territory. The Licence was taken out to explore for gold, following the discovery of gold at Tom's Gully nearby. Auriferous quartz veins were found at the 'Mark's Reefs' prospect in the northern part of EL5293 late in 1987. Seven percussion holes were drilled, but the best one-metre intersections were 2m of 1.l g/t Au and 1m of 1.47 g/t Au. An aeromagnetic survey was flown over EL 5293, as part of a wide coverage of Carpentaria's four EL's in the region. |
