Annual report exploration licence 8162 Mountain Creek 12th OCtober, 1996 to 11th October 1997

Abstract

Several samples with high chromite counts were produced by EL 8162 through previous diamond exploration activities. To locate the source of the chromite a ground magnetic and EM-34 survey was undertaken over the anomaly, resulting in one magnetic and four EM-34 targets being selected for follow-up. The targets were sampled for microdiamond and indicator analysis (6 samples). In addition to the surface sampling 4 RAB holes totalling 76m were completed to follow up the geophysical anomalies. A further 41 holes were completed along the positive drainage. Results are to be included in the next annual. Results from 1 x 50t bulk samples are negative.
