| Abstract: | L 7161 was applied for in order to further assess the significance of chromite grains recovered from the headwaters of Ooratippra Creek by a previous explorer. An initial sampling programme of 6 drainage samples yielded chromites in 4 samples. 16 closely spaced follow up samples were planned in the vicinity of the one sample which contained the largest number of chromites. The results from the follow up programme were disappointing as there was no pattern to the chromite distribution, and only a few chromite grains were recovered from any one sample. A decision to relinquish the area was made. |
