Abstract: | In year 1, 4 gravel and 7 loam samples were collected in the relinquished area. 4 samples were positive outlining a subtle anomaly. Follow up of this anomaly consisted of 2 bulk samples and 14 grid based loam samples. 1 of the bulk samples returned a single microdiamond, while a single microdiamond was also recovered from the loam sampling. 39 loam samples were collected from another area (Grid 2). 9 were positive. EM-34 over this grid gave erratic results. This was attributed to the black soils in the area. A helimag survey over the area defined 4 anomalies in the relinquished area. Three of these anomalies were followed up by loam sampling (total 4 samples) and EM-34 was negative. |
