Title: Annual Report on EL's 6993 Bonya Creek, 7287 Mt Cornish and 7505 Twins Bore in the Eastern Arunta Block 9 November 1993 to 8 November 1994
Title Holder / Company: Normandy Exploration
Report id: CR1995-0108

Year: 1995
Author: Cozens, GJ
Abstract: This report covers work conducted on EL's 6993, 7287, and 7205 during the fourth year of tenure. The target commodities were Cu, Pb, Zn, Ag hosted within Proterozoic Arunta Block rocks. Work on the Hamburger Hill focussed on drill testing the ground EM anomalies SE of the Hill. These anomalies were found to be intense clay alteration zones within a shear or fracture. Anomalous RAB geochemistry was tested by RC drilling, which confirmed the anomalous geochemistry within quartz-sericite-minor garnet schist. Geological mapping was conducted to help understand the setting and structure of the area. Vacuum drilling was carried out to further test beneath sand covered areas adjacent to the Hill. Vacuum drilling was also carried out over two areas south of the Jervois Mines to follow up interesting outcrops of 'lodey' psamite and to test beneath sand covered areas. Two EM surveys were flown, over the East Jervois area and Twins Bore EL 7505 area. These produced two anomalies worthy of further work. The anomalies were tested by a traverse of vacuum drilling. Results were awaited at the time of reporting. The survey over Twins Bore did not produce any anomalies. A regional exploration programe was completed focussing on completing the RAB coverage of EL 7287, following up geochemically anomalous holes and evaluating all the results. Results revealed that only one hole was worthy of further work.
