Abstract

Garnet sand analysis indicates significant proportions of garnet in all size fractions. Various separation techniques were tested to determine method of producing clean concentrate. Magnetic process eliminated quartz and feldspar readily but retained with the garnet a dark unidentified mineral. Other problems were encountered with the spiral separator assoc with size fraction, rate of feed etc. The vermiculite at Entire Creek was tested for asbestos materials found to be asbestos free. 6 possible kimberlitic pipes were identified from the magnetics.
