Abstract: | The licence area was originally 4 blocks, and was reduced to 2 in February 1992. The southern block was relinquished in December 1992 after a mineral lease was pegged in the north-east of the block. EL 5870 was allowed to expire on the 16th of October 1996. This report details exploration completed over the area of EL 5870 that is now held by Northern Gold under MCN 4459 and ERL 145. This information is also detailed in previous company reports for EL 5870. Geochemical sampling has previously outlined a 700 x 400m gold anomaly with values to 418ppb Au. Rock chip values to 4.28ppm Au were obtained from quartz veins in a synclinal closure of quartz wacke and conglomerates. The mineralisation is believed to be the N-W extension of the Au mineralisation at the Virginia Mine. |
