Abstract: | During the 1995/96 exploration season, Northern Gold completed a work programme based on digital data acquisition and manipulation and a regional soil sampling programme. Landsat Imagery, SPOT Imagery and AGSO mapping were obtained and used in conjuction with aerial mapping to determine the best method of gold exploration to be used in the licence. The regional soil sampling programme involved the collection of 196 soil samples in the NW of the licence. This work outlined a coincident N-NW trending Au, As and Pb anomaly with a strike length of some 1600m. This anomaly returned a peak values of 44ppb Au, 67ppm As and 89ppm Pb. The interpretation of remotely sensed data indicates that the south of the licence is underlain by the Mingle Granite and the Frances Creek Leucogranite. |
