Abstract: The tenements were taken out by Nicron Resources to explore for gold mineralisation. Exploration in year 5 (1993-94) consisted of an assessment of the soil sampling results, geological assessment, costeaning and drilling. The gold mineralisation is thought to be located on the eastern limb of an easterly dipping overturned anticline possibly in a flexure. Mineralisation is thought to be located in a rapidly alternating series of siltstones and greywackes with quartz veinning. Results of channel sampling the costeans returned substantial widths of anomalous gold mineralisation e.g. 40m @ 0.12 g/t au. RC drilling consisted of 9 holes for 408 m. Significant intersections were 1m @ 14.5 g/t Au from 2m, 1m @ 1.22 g/t Au from 3m, 9m @ 1.88 g/t Au from 12m. The mineability of the area is enhanced by the consistency of grade and width of the Au mineralisation encountered from the surface on costean line 6600N.
