Data Research Programme, Progress report , 'Mt Ringwood Project', June 1994

Abstract

This report is a data compilation of exploration undertaken in the Mt Ringwood 1:50 000 map sheet between 1962 and 1991. The subject area has been selected as a prototype of future projects that will cover the central portion of the Pine Creek Geosyncline. This area has been host to at least 44 ELs between 1962 and 1992. These titles have given rise to the production of at least 97 exploration reports. The creation of the compilation was an experiment to determine the optimum data presentation format within the restrictions of hard and software on hand. The major conclusion to be drawn from the exercise is that the current computer and software is insufficient to meet the aspirations of the project. It is essential to the objectives of the overall project that all data be presented on standard formats and scales. Although this work has failed in its intentions, it has served to crystallize project requirements.
