Abstract: | Year 5 exploration consisted of RAB drill testing of two aeromagnetic anomalies. Reviews and re-interpretation of aeromagnetic and geochemical sampling data were also completed. 128 RAB holes totalling 5147m were drilled to test the prospects Windy Hill and Morlands. Drilling at Windy Hill was successful in detecting zones of anomalous gold mineralisation within a suite of Tanami Complex rocks. A low grade mineralised zone gave one very significant high gold grade intercept at the bottom of a hole (3m @ 6.39 g/t Au). Geological interpretation of the area indicates that the host rocks are a structurally complex packsge of sediments and minor intercalated volcanics. Therefore it is considered that results from the preliminary exploration undertaken to date indicate that the Windy Hill area is very prospective for economic gold deposits. No anomalous geochemistry nor significant geology was revealed by the RAB drilling programme at Moorlands. Consequently it is considered that this area is not prospective for significant gold mineralisation. |
