Title: Annual Report EL 6431, for Year 4, Acacia Gap Area, 04-09-1992 to 03-09-1993.
Title Holder / Company: Nicron Resources
Report id: CR1993-0556
Tenure: EL6431
Year: 1993
Author: Ormsby, WR
Abstract: Exploration during the 4th year of tenure concentrated on 3 areas: Manton, Acacia North and Acacia Dome. At Manton a semi detailed gravity survey and 128 RAB holes totalling 1106m were completed. Some difficulty in reaching bedrock occured in drilling near the Manton River due to the depth of cover. Some encouraging results were obtained, with maximum values of 4680ppm Pb, 2070ppm Zn and 210ppm Cu. The N-S gravity high appears to occur with dolerite logged in the RAB holes. At Acacia North two lines of RAB, 800m apart, consisting of 42 holes totalling 278m were completed, following up previously reported elevated gold values. Most holes intersected the sandstones of the Crater Formation. Only one hole returned anomalous gold values-maximum 0.015ppm Au. The elevated values were obtained from sandstone with 10% limonite veins. Drilling at Acacia Dome returned disappointing results for magnesite and base metals.
