Title: Fifth annual report EL 2508 Arnhemland 1992 to 1993
Title Holder / Company: Queensland Mines
Report id: CR1993-0446
Tenure: EL2508
Year: 1993
Author: Fabray, J
Abstract: 12 PROTEM and 12 MaxMin survey lines were completed, as were 260 RAB holes totalling 4882m and 29 RC percussion-diamond drill holes totalling 1754m percussion and 3528m diamond core. The RAB programme returned values of a background nature with some elevated base metal-uranium values. (Maximum values Cu 420ppm, 660ppm Pb, 1410ppm Zn, 330ppm Ni, 10ppm U and 22ppm Th). Gold values were below the detection limit. The percussion-diamond drill programme tested 6 anomalies. Drilling at the S27 anomaly found uranium enrichment in the amphibolite unit (interpreted lower Cahill Formation) beneath the Kombolgie Sandstone. At the U65 anomaly minor primary uranium mineralisation was associated with a dyke of Oenpelli Dolerite. Near the boundary of SML94 uranium mineralisation was found associated with altered amphibolite beneath some 40m of Kombolgie Sandstone.
