Abstract: | 231 geochemical samples were collected from traversing across strike of the regional magnetic trends. Of the areas surveyed, line 12 has the highest potential with strong As and some Sb, Cu, Pb and Zn associated with a fault controlled hydrothermel quartz stockwork and exhalite sinters. These exhalite sinters also accur 8 to 10 km to the west along the magnetic structure on lines 7 and 8. Low level Au is present on lines 2 and 3 in non-outcropping terrain, with higher Ba background lithofacies and distal As+/-Sb. As was up tp 120ppm in the few samples collected peripheral to line 1 'target area 4'. All of these areas together with target areas 1 and 2 warrant further sampling and/or drilling. EL 5418 has potential for both gold and strata bound Proterozoic style base metal mineralisation. |
