Abstract: Work concentrated in the area adjacent to the southern end of Placer's Western Shear prospect. It consisted of infill soil sampling and trenching in areas of anomalous soil geochemistry. Infill sampling and mapping in EL6137 have shown 2 prominent NE trending hydrobreccias disrupted by E-W trending shear zone along strike. Maud Creek Dolerite occurs near these disruptions. 550m of trenching in the vicinity of soil grid 4 and 9 and soil sampling as an extension to soil grid 9 near the Western Shear prospect was undertaken in EL6172. Two N-S trending Au soil anomalies were outlined some 400m apart. The most promising assays from the trenching programme over soil grid 4 occurred in costean 3, whose values range from 0.1 to 0.52g-t Au. The majority of costeans associated with soil grid 9 were low.
