| Abstract: | The mines of the Wandie goldfield are situated east of the tenement. Gold was mainly produced from alluvial workings and quartz reefs. The alluvial gold deposits in EL 6828 are hosted in the Quaternary lithosols and alluvium, which cover considerable portions of the Burrell Creek Formation. An aerial magnetic and radiometric survey was completed in 1990 over the EL. A number of small exploration targets have been generated for this survey, over which relatively small, low amplitude, coincident airborne magnetic and radiometric anomalies occur. These anomalies are along strike from known mineralisation and in close proximity to regional F1 fold axis. It is considered that future exploration in EL 6828 is warranted and will be concentrated proximal to the anomalies. |
