Abstract: | Panning illustrated that tin and gold is to be found in most drainage areas in anomalous quantities. Systematic sampling of mine dumps associated with the Bells Group of Tin Mines. Dumps range in grade from 0.8%-0.1% tin with a mode at 0.3% Sn. An aplite intrusion was located. This intrusive hosts cassiterite bearing veins near it margins. The aplite appears to be stanniferous only where fractured and brecciated. From work to date cassiterite appears to be confined to quartz veins encircled by narrow alteration haloes. |
