Final Report on the East Margaret EL 4818

Abstract

Exploration licence 4818 lies on the East Margaret River south of Mt. Bonnie gold mine, some 150 km southeast of Darwin. A programe of grid survey, geological mapping and rock chip sampling was carried out to follow up soil and drainage gold, arsenic and base metal anomalies identified near the sowthwest corner of EL 4818. Anomalous gold, arsenic and base metals in soil and drainage samples appear to relate to substantial zones of quartz-sulphide veining in Koolpin Formation Metasediments along the axial zone of a regional anticline. Limited rock chip sampling confirms the presence of anomalous gold values in the quartz reefs. Further exploration in the area is recomended.
