Abstract: | Exploration work consisted of limited geological reconnaissance, and the drilling of two vertical percussion drill holes and two vertical diamond drill holes in order to test a large non-outcropping magnetic anomaly. Geochemical assays, petrological examination and magnetic susceptibility measurements were completed on drill samples. Results have indicated that at least a major part of the magnetic complex is a sequence of magnetite bearing schistose metasediments of probable Mt Charles Bed affinities, which is overlain by non-prospective Cambrian basalt, and unmetamorphosed sediments. No potentially mineralised units were encountered. |
