Annual Report for Kurundi District year ending 2 June 1987.

Abstract

This report details work carried out on Exploration Licence 4940 and 4941 at Kurundi for the 12 months ending June 2nd, 1987. Exploration included geological mapping, rock chip sampling and eluvial sampling and concentrated on evaluating known occurrences of auriferous quartz veins in a variety of rock types. Disappointing results were obtained from the Hill of Leaders gold prospect near the Mosquito Creek Tungsten occurrences in EL 4941 and from MLC 649 (the 'Opengigi Gold Mine') within EL. 4940. However, the results of eluvial sampling at Millers Gold Mine in EL 4940 are encouraging enough to warrant following trenching. Additional gold anomalies were located by regional rock chip sampling in both Exploration Licences and these will be followed up in the second year of tenure.
