Title: Western Creek project, terminal report for Coal Licence 3
Title Holder / Company: Western Mining
Report id: CR1985-0222
Tenure: CL3
Year: 1985
Author: Meyer, GM
Abstract: Coal licence 3 was acquired in June 1983 to search for possible Permian coal bearing sediments near the Southern margin of Daly River Basin. A large elongate Bouguer gravity depression was considered to have potential to represent a large Permian infrabasin. Two drill holes were sited near the centre of the gravity anomaly but failed to intersect Permian sediments. Both holes drilled shallow Cretaceous sands and clays before passing into Early Cambrian Antrim Plateau Volcanics.
