Abstract: Ground follow up investigations were carried out on airborne radiometric anomalies, together with a geochemical rock chip and float sampling programme on distinctive BIF horizons within basement rocks. None of the radiometric anomalies investigated represent targets for economic uranium exploration. Most were due to stratigraphic variation in radiometric background, and low-grade carnotite mineralisation in shear zones within basement acid volcanics. One area with anomalous base metal results was identified, which is believed to be prospective for VMS or gold orebodies of the Tennant Creek style.
