Abstract: | The basalt flows of the Seigal Creek Volcanics are the most likely source of uranium and base metals, based on their high U background geochem values. Sampling of the basalt flow immediately above the U mineralisation at Calvert South indicates that the U and base metals have been leached from the vesicular basalt. It is recommended that detailed stream sed and soil sampling continue in the horizons overlying the Seigal Volcanics, particularly the McDermott, Wollogorang and Aquarium Formations. |
