EL 1878 Millionaires Well NT annual report period ending 19-10-1980.

Abstract

CRA Exploration Pty Ltd (CRAE) carried out a geochemical drainage survey on EL 1878 during April 1980. A total of 83 samples were collected which achieved an actual sample density of one sample per 14.4 sq. km. During the drainage survey heavy mineral (gravel), 'standard' stream sediment samples and loam samples of circular features were collected. The gravel samples were not processed, however, the results of two loam samples showed no kimberlitic indicator minerals. The stream sediment samples were analysed for fourteen elements and the results indicated several tungsten anomalies and one gold anomaly which required confirmation. Detailed mapping and auger drilling to bedrock were recommended to investigation airborne magnetic highs in the vicinity of calc-silicate horizons.
