EL 477, report for year 1972-1973.

Abstract

EL 477 is being explored for limestone. Work during 1972 included a preliminary reconnaissance during which systematic grid sampling was conducted. Of 99 samples tested for their reaction to 10% HCl, seven samples warranted further work. The 1973 field season was delayed by a heavy Wet Season. Grid sampling was eventually resumed at 50 m centres. Of 102 samples, 23 samples were sent for assay. Form April to July, limited drilling to a maximum of 33 feet was undertaken. Only 7 of the planned holes were completed due to a late start and mechanical breakdown. Further grid sampling led to 35 of 80 samples warranting assay. Further work is planned for the renewal period of the EL.
