| Abstract: | A scintillometer survey was used to ground check a radiometrics anomaly. Counts 3 times above a background of 50 counts per second were confined to an area 20 yards by 20 yards. Values increased to 220 counts per second in shallow holes dug to about 2 feet into the laterite in this area. By analogy with similar findings on nearby titles, it was felt that the radiometric activity was confined to the laterite. It was such a low order of anomaly and over such a small area that no further uranium exploration on AP 2558 could be justified. It was not considered prospective for other minerals and the area was surrendered. |
