Abstract: | Work within EL's 6571-6577 looked initially at their diamond potential. Results were generally disappointing and it was decided that no further diamond exploration would take place. Subsequently the area was examined for its base metal potential. Stream sediment sampling outline 4 areas with anomalous geochemistry. Follow up included soil sampling and geological traversing indicated that at Fish Hole and Don's Creek Cu-Zn anomalism was associated with basalts in the Mitchiebo Volcanics. The Pb-Zn anomalism known as the Lancewood Anomaly was associated with phosphatic breccias within the Border Waterhole Formation. The other anomaly returned no significant results. A photogeological interpretation failed to highlight any areas of Lawn Hill Formation in the relinquished area. |
