Abstract: | During August to October, 1966, United Uranium conducted a reconnaissance stream sampling survey over 600 square miles in the northern portion of the South Alligator A.P.1566. The purpose of the survey was to locate anomalous areas of base metal mineralisation in addition to gold and tin. A limited search was also made for phosphate and. uranium. The survey was successful in delineating about 45 locations which could lead to base metal, gold and tin mineralisation. No phosphate or uranium was located. It is recommended that the anomalous areas be investigated followed by a reduction in the size of the A.P. |
