Abstract: | A deal was made in late 1995 between Aberfoyle Resources and Ashton Mining whereby Aberfoyle can explore the tenement for Zn-Pb-Cu mineralisation in the Middle Proterozoic lithologies of the McArthur Basin. Ashton retain the tenement title and diamond rights within that tenement. Work completed on the tenement during the first year of tenure involved geophysical interpretation of the relevant map sheet areas and compilation of open file exploration records. An airborne EM survey was flown during the second year of operation, and data interpretation completed. Only one feature was identified, however it has been downgraded due to the fact that the bedrock hosting the conductivity feature is interpreted to be Tawallah Group rather than the prospective McArthur Group sediments. If this interpretation is proved to be false from work elsewhere in the district, the anomaly should be re-evaluated. No high priority targets were recognised in the area. |
