Title: | Surrender report for EL 10212 Edith River, year ending 19 June 2005 |
Title Holder / Company: | Harmony Gold Australia |
Report id: | CR2005-0136 |
Tenure: | EL10212 |
Year: | 2005 |
Author: | Shaw, J |
Abstract: | EL 10212 was not subjected to any field exploration programs since grant. It had been regarded as a low priority backup to any mining operation at Maud Creek. In 2004 Harmony resolved to seek a buyer for the Maud Creek project as the Maud assets were distal from Harmony's operational centre at Brocks Creek and Union Reefs. EL10212 was not required by the purchaser as part of the sale package and as a consequence the tenement was surrendered. EL 10212 covers a sector of Lower Proterozoic Tollis Formation rocks that correlates approximately with the sequence hosting gold mineralisation at the Maud Creek mining centre. It would be appropriate that the tenement, in particular the southern sector, be subjected to reconnaissance mapping, prospecting, rock chip sampling and stream sediment sampling for gold to determine whether the ground is prospective. |
