Annual Report for ML 23283 Windy Hill Project for the period 10 June 2018 to 9 June 2019

Abstract

This report describes exploration work conducted on Mineral Lease (ML) 23283 (Windy Hill project) by Newmont Goldcorp Tanami Pty Ltd (Newmont) for the year ending 9th June 2019. The Granites Gold Mine is located 550 km northwest of Alice Springs and the Windy Hill project is located 37 km northeast of MLS 8, 'The Granites'. The Minotaur pit, located within ML 23283 produced 0.926Mt at 2.11g/t Au during August 2003 to February 2004 for 62,825ozs Au (end of June 2004). The most recent exploration drilling was completed on ML 23283 during 2011 and 2012. Work completed during the reporting period included ongoing environmental monitoring and commencement of a resource estimation scoping study. The environmental monitoring program was comprised of pit lake water and groundwater bore quality monitoring and some minor weed identification and management. A draft reclamation and closure scoping study was completed during the 2017-2018 reporting period to initiate next steps for the reclamation and closure of the Project area. This work has been since been delayed as a result of a resource study which commenced in early 2019. This work will determine whether closure activities continue in earnest. In the meantime a decision has been made to continue further hydrogeological work in light of DPIR's request for information regarding the 2018 pit lake water monitoring results. Additionally rehabilitation monitoring is also planned for the end of 2019. The resource study is scheduled for completion during the 2019-2020 reporting period.
